New methods of HIV prevention, such as vaccines and microbicides, are urgently needed to stop the spread of HIV worldwide.
Globally, there are almost 7,500 new HIV infections every day. Research suggests that even a partially-effective, first-generation vaccine that reaches a fraction of those who need it, could cut the number of new HIV infections dramatically, savings millions of lives.

NAT supports the work of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) and the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM) and advocates for greater investment to accelerate the development of new methods of prevention, which have the potential to save millions of lives worldwide.
