The UK has some of the best HIV treatment outcomes globally, but many people with HIV still face barriers to a good quality of life.
Significant gaps exist in HIV prevention and care, especially for certain groups who are more likely to experience delayed diagnosis, lack of access to care, and poorer health outcomes. With half of people living with HIV in the UK now over 50, healthcare services need to better support those aging with HIV.
To address these issues and help end HIV transmission in the UK by 2030, HIV Outcomes UK was established in 2023.

National AIDS Trust serves as the secretariat for HIV Outcomes UK, which is funded by Gilead Sciences and ViiV Healthcare. The group is affiliated with HIV Outcomes at a European level.
