Housing Support for People living with HIV is a toolkit that will assist people living with HIV and their support systems who have to advocate for local homelessness support.

To be considered as having priority need for temporary housing, people living with HIV need to know how to argue that they are vulnerable and what to expect from local housing authorities. This toolkit isn’t a replacement for formal advice but it provides a good starting point for people to understand how they should approach accessing homelessness support.

Despite HIV prevalence in the UK, people living with HIV are often burdened with explaining how HIV   impacts their everyday life including their housing situation. This toolkit works to empower people with the information to get the support they deserve.

Included in the toolkit are:

  • Letter and email templates
  • A breakdown of responsibilities of local housing authorities
  • Contact details for support services
